Using the service

Colyf terms of use

These terms describe the basic rules for using the Colyf public site and an institution-provided Colyf account.

Effective 20 September 2026

Authorized access

Use the school portal only with an account and institution access issued or approved for you. Keep sign-in details private, use accurate information, and tell your institution or The Code Lawyers if you believe an account has been compromised. Student use is managed by the participating institution, with guardian involvement where appropriate.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another person’s records, bypass access controls, disrupt the service, upload harmful material, impersonate another person, or use Colyf to harass, exploit, or endanger anyone. Institution rules also apply to school content and communications.

Community communications

Messages and other community spaces must not be used for bullying, threats, hate, sexual exploitation, arranging unsafe contact, or sharing illegal content. Use the report and block controls when a message causes concern. Participating institutions may moderate their spaces under their safeguarding and conduct rules.

Institution and user content

Schools and their authorized users remain responsible for the educational and administrative content they provide and for granting suitable access. You should only upload material you are allowed to share. Colyf processes that content to provide the service and related support.

External services and payments

Some functions depend on infrastructure or payment providers. A payment or registration is complete only when Colyf shows a verified final state; an opened checkout or pending order is not confirmation. Third-party sites and services have their own terms and privacy notices.

Availability and changes

Features may change, be paused, or be unavailable during maintenance, provider interruptions, security work, or at an institution’s direction. These public terms do not promise a specific service level. Access may be limited when needed to protect users, institutions, or the service.

Questions or concerns

Contact your institution first for course, attendance, grade, fee, or membership decisions. For service, privacy, or account concerns, use the public help page or contact the operator below.
